LO3 Review of a Game

Review- Just Dance 2014

So the new installment of the game Just Dance is finally here. This quality music video game is guaranteed to get everyone of their seats and up and dancing, whether its just a good old family get together or a party everybody will be sure to join the fun.

This time round the music and dances are better than ever before. New game modes have been introduced which just adds to the excitement. The new modes are online multiplayer, world dance floor and the party mode. The World Dance Floor is my favourite as you can now compete against players from all across the world if you choose the same song in a large multiplayer setting. You can also compare your performances and increase their level if they play often enough. Party Mode can only be played on the Wii U or the Xbox consoles and also they will have the new second screen features. During party mode the players can manipulate the game play and their routines and also their playlists.

This game is great as it can be played across a wide range on platforms such as the Xbox, Wii and PlayStation 3 and 4. With the Wii U and Xbox consoles the players can use the gamepads camera to record AutoDance footage and it can also be used for the new karaoke feature.

The music has been updated and there is now a more modern twist to it however, there are still some of the oldies, its the perfect mixture! From 'Careless Whisper' for the older generations to 'Kiss Me' by One Direction for the younger generations. This eclectic range of music is a great way of getting everybody up for a boogie. Not only do they have this range but they also have a downloadable range too s if the music isn't your cup of tea, I'm sure there will be within the downloadable content. Although there is no narrative to this game, every dance and song has its own story.

There are no characters in the game which isn't unusual for this game genre. The game has Avatars and depending on the song and the dance, it determines whether the avatar will be a male or female. The player will follow each avatar throughout the different dances.

All in all this game is better than all of its predecessors as its all  new and improved. Overall I, myself would rate this game a 9/10 only because Party mode is not available across all platforms.
